All the important Info you need to know for #DL2018

This is not a test there’s only ONE WEEK to go until Download 2018! To get you on the road to Donington we’ve put together these handy FAQS of all the important info you need to know about coming to #DL2018. From travel info to arena times to the gorgeous grub being served up on site, we’ve got you covered.

How do I get to Download?

Download takes place at Donington Park and has excellent connections by bus, car and rail. If you haven’t sorted your travel yet here are all the ways you can get to Donington Park to start your weekend of ROCK.

By Coach

Take the hassle out of your travel by jumping on board with our travel partner Big Green Coach. They’re operating both weekend and day return services from a range of locations across the UK. Visit their website to find out more and book your travel.

By Car

We have routes from North, South, East and West to get you to site. These will be used flexibly depending on traffic conditions at the time so make sure you follow the signs and not your sat nav.

There are roadworks near Donington Park and so we will be reacting to live traffic conditions and changing routes live and using contingencies so we can’t stress enough – follow the signage!

By Car Share

Save money and the environment by car sharing. We’re working with Liftshare who’ll find you a space in a car if you’re looking for a lift or if you’re a driver an extra passenger for your car.

By Train

The nearest train stations to Donington Park are East Midlands Parkway and Derby train station. Visit our Travel Info page to find out when the first and last trains leave.

A shuttlebus service to and from East Midlands Parkway and Derby station to Download Festival will run throughout the weekend. It takes just 20 minutes to get to Donington Park from East Midlands Parkway and 30 minutes from Derby Station. A return ticket is just £10.

I’m driving to Download, do I need a car park pass?

If you’re driving to Download you will need a car park pass. Car park passes can no longer be purchased in advance and will be available to buy when you arrive at the festival. Car park passes cost £25 and motorcycle pass costs £15. Campervan car park passes are now sold out and not available on site.

The car parks are open from midday Wednesday until midday Monday. Stewards are available in the car park 24 hours a day.

If you are a Disabled Access customer a pass has been emailed to you.

My ticket hasn’t arrived yet. What can I do?

Please contact the ticket agent you booked your ticket with. If you booked your ticket with Ticketmaster/Front Gate please call 0333 003 5937. If you booked your ticket with a different ticket agent, please contact them directly.

Can I upgrade my ticket?

Yes, you can the upgrade the following tickets at the Box Office onsite:

  • Standard Weekend Camping to Quiet Camping
  • Quiet Camping to Standard Weekend Camping

What time does the box office open?

The onsite box office will be open at the following times:

Wednesday 8am – Midnight

Thursday 8am – Midnight

Friday 8am – Midnight

Saturday 9am – 9pm

Sunday 9am – 9pm

What time does the campsite open?

The general campsite opens at 12pm Wednesday 6th June and closes 12pm Monday 11th June. The campsites are open 24 hours a day.

Which campsite will I be camping in?

All of our general admission campsites are on a first come first served basis. You must have a quiet camping ticket to access quiet camping.

RIP customers and Access customers have separate campsites.

Is there still time to sign up to the Eco Camp?

Yes. You can still sign up to the camp in the Eco-Camp by completing this registration form.

To upgrade from a standard/quiet camping ticket to the Eco campsite, please complete this registration form.

I’m packing for the festival. Are there any items i’m not allowed to bring?

There are certain items you are not allowed to bring into the arena or campsite. For example, Firelighter Stoves are permitted in the campsite but Portable Stoves with gas canisters are not.

Camping

What time does the arena open each day?

The arena will open at the following times:

Friday – 12.00pm

Saturday – 10.00am

Sunday – 10.00am

*Please note these times are approximate and subject to Health And Safety checks prior to each opening.

Where can I find set times for the bands?

Get the Download App to find out when your favourite bands will be playing and to keep up-to-date with the latest news when you’re at the festivals. The times will be added to the app closer to the festival.

Do I need to bring ID with me?

We have a Challenge 21 Policy on site and you may be asked to show ID. The following forms of ID are accepted on site at the bars and for cigarettes:

  • A Passport (Not a photocopy)
  • Driving Licence
  • A Proof of Age Card bearing a PASS hologram
  • A Ministry of Defence identity card
  • A National identity card issued by an EU member state

Are there bag restrictions getting into the arena?

Yes, bag restrictions will be in place. Your safety is our priority and we’ve put in place all necessary measures to maximise public safety, working closely with local authorities at the highest level. We ask that you also play a part in keeping Download Festival safe and secure, so please take note of our messages below, pack accordingly and stay strong together.

All festival goers will be subject to extra searches of their vehicles, bags and their person.  Please be patient if there are longer queues than normal. We request that you cooperate with any security requests and searches. Please pack light!

CCTV recording is in operation throughout the festival site for public safety and crime prevention.

We strongly advise you do not bring a bag into the Arena as there will be long queues while all bags are searched. If you do wish to bring a bag into the Arena please ensure that it is no bigger than A4 sized 8.27”x11.69”. There is a limited to one A4 sized bag per person permitted into the Arena.

Bag Restrictions

I’ve been accepted to the Download 2018 Loyalty Scheme. How do I claim my voucher?

You can collect your vouchers at the Download Loyalty Collection next to the arena entrance. Simply show your barcode at the Loyalty booth at the festival; either on your smart phone, tablet or printed out. Make sure you bring photo ID with you to claim your voucher.

If your phone screen is cracked, please have a printed copy of your voucher in case our scanners can’t pick up the code.

The collection point will be open as soon as the Arena opens until 7pm on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the festival. They will cease being accepted as tender when the Arena closes on Sunday evening.

I’m a Disabled Access customer, when will I receive my Disabled Access Guide?

The Disabled Access guide will be sent to all customers this Monday 4th June.

Can I bring water into the arena?

You can bring in sealed plastic water/soft drinks bottles under 500ml. Water points are available in the arena for you to refill your water bottles.

Can I bring alcohol into the arena?

You can bring alcohol into the campsite, but you are not permitted to bring it into the arena.

What food will you be offering on site?

Get the Download App to discover all of the food vendors in the campsite and arena. There’ll also be a Co-op store on site in the arena this year with snacks, meal deals & more!

What payment options are there on site?

We have lots of onsite payment options for you including cash, contactless, debit and credit card payment. We also accept Apple Pay and Google Pay options at all of the bars and merch stands and a number of the food stalls. The stalls should show this at the front of their activation. The remainder of the food stalls and the funfair will take cash only.
