Download’s Fan Focus is a chance for us to take a look at some of our loyal DLers and their best memories from the festival. This week, we have Andy from Hull.
FAVOURITE IMAGE FROM DOWNLOAD:
This is the Metallica flag that was signed by fans at the festival in 2006. It was trashed in the Donington pit but now hangs on the wall in Metallica HQ above Kirk’s amps.
HOW MANY TIMES HAVE YOU ATTENDED DOWNLOAD?
BEST LIVE SET YOU’VE SEEN AT DOWNLOAD?
WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE MEMORY FROM DOWNLOAD?
Download 2003 when I got to see both of my daughters enjoy their first rock festival… Sort of time to pass the torch!
IF YOU COULD SUM UP YOUR DOWNLOAD EXPERIENCE IN A LYRIC, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
This one is simple – it has to be Guns N’ Roses with ‘Paradise City’. This sums up the feeling when you walk through those gates… you feel like you are home!
IS THERE ANYONE YOU’VE MET AT DOWNLOAD WHO’S BECOME AN IMPORTANT PART OF YOUR LIFE?
More the other way around,as this year is my 25th Donington event. From the days of Monsters Of Rock in 1980 with AC/DC, through to Download 2017 with Aerosmith’s final UK show, I have brought many family members and friends to this amazing festival!
TOP TIP FOR ANYONE ATTENDING DOWNLOAD FOR THE FIRST TIME?
Download is a marathon, not a sprint. Pace and enjoy yourself because if you don’t, Download will chew you up and spit you out like the bulldog of a festival it is!
