Heavy Metal Truants Return For DL22!

The Heavy Metal Truants’ annual ride to Donington is back for Download 2022!

For the last two years, the HMT’s went virtual, allowing Downloaders around the world to join in. This year marks their tenth anniversary – and their first EVER hybrid virtual and physical event!

If you’re not familiar with the Truants, they were formed in 2013 by ex-Metal Hammer editor Alexander Milas and Iron Maiden manager Rod Smallwood. Since then, they’ve cycled the 175 mile journey from Download to London, to raise money for various charities. Not even Covid could stop the Truants – in 2020 and 2021, they went virtual. Downloaders everywhere could join in, and in 2021, they smashed their biggest running total – £1million!

This year, the Heavy Metal Truants can finally make their ride to Download once more – BUT they’ll continue to run a virtual event, so you can join in too!

Where Do I Sign UP?

You can find all the info on how to join over on the Heavy Metal Truants’ website. There’s challenges for cyclists, runners, walkers and more – however you want to go the distance!
