Download Festival’s New Music Friday is back! Plug your headphones in and get ready to headbang your way through all of the new music released this week.

Slash featuring Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators ask you to ‘Mind Your Manners’

Are you ready for some super slick solos and heavy blues riffs? Strap yourself in, Guns N’ Roses guitar god Slash has teamed up with Alter Bridge’s Myles Kennedy for their third collaborative album, ‘Living The Dream’. The album is set to be released on 24th September, but you can listen to the new track ‘Mind Your Manners’ now. It’s a total beast.

Watch Greta Van Fleet’s new video ‘When The Curtain Falls’

Fresh from conquering the Main Stage at Download 2018, Greta Van Fleet are taking on faraway galaxies in the trippy video for their new track, ‘When The Curtain Falls’. The song is taken from their forthcoming as-yet-untitled debut album due out later this year. If this track is anything go by, the album is set to be out of this world.

Thrice share dramatic new track ‘Only Us’

From the opening synths (yes, synths!) of Thrice’s new track ‘Only Us’, you can tell it’s going to be something different and very special. Erupting with heroic  soaring harmonies and monstrous riffs, the track in the band’s words is about “how the things that we think separate us are actually inconsequential”.  Only Us’ is the opening track of Thrice’s forthcoming tenth album ‘Palms’, which is set to be released on 14th September.

The Struts cover Post Malone’s ‘Better Now’

Rock and hip hop’s relationship together has lasted for nearly as long as Sharon and Ozzy’s marriage. There’s the classics collaborations: Run DMC’s ‘Walk This Way’ featuring Aerosmith, Jay Z’s and Linkin Park’s ‘Numb/Encore’, Anthrax and Public Enemy’s ‘Bring The Noise’. Now, The Struts have covered Post Malone’s ‘Better Now. Is it another rock v’s hip hop classic? We’ll let you decide.

Boston Manor drop new single and video ‘Bad Machine’

We cannot wait to get our hands on Boston Manor’s forthcoming sophomore album, ‘Welcome To The Neighbourhood’ out on 7th September. Today the band released the new single and video ‘Bad Machine’ taken from the album and it’s epically dark.

The band have said they, “wanted to capture some of the sleaziness of the track and condense the video down to a sequence of ‘moments’, almost like a movie trailer.” Grab the popcorn as it definitely doesn’t disappoint.

Plini  – ‘Kind’

Guitar maestro Plini played The Dogtooth Stage at Download and totally blew us away with his supreme fretwork and intricate compositions. He’s now doing it all over again with the new video for ‘Kind’ taken from Plini’s incredible ‘Sunshine’ EP. Just look at those fingers go.

Come back next week for more New Music Fridays where we bring you a round up of the latest rock, metal and pop punk releases.
