New Music Friday – Slipknot, Opeth, Underoath, Whitesnake

It’s Friday, the first announcement for Download has been revealed and the weekend is only moments away. Can life get any better?

Well, yes it can as New Music Friday is back with Slipknot, Opeth, Underoath and Whitesnake.

Slipknot make a riotous return with new track and video ‘All Out Life’

It was trick or treat for all you maggots out there on Halloween as Slipknot dropped their first new track in four years, ‘All Out Life’. Back in the summer,  Corey Taylor said that the band’s upcoming album, the follow-up to 2014’s ‘5 The Gray Chapter’, would be “Iowa levels of heavy” and he wasn’t exaggerating as ‘All Out Life’ is relentlessly brutal.

Check out the ‘All Out Life’ video directed by the band’s Shawn “Clown” Crahan to crank up the intensity: it’s classic Slipknot with masked figures that’ll give you nightmares for a week and more blood than Carrie’s prom.

Speaking to Apple Music’s Beats 1, Corey got us hyped for the album revealing: “It’s one of the darkest chapters in Slipknot’’s history — it’s that good. It’s complicated, it’s dark, it’s heavy, it’s melodic, it’s fierce, it’s angry and it’s real, it’s raw as hell and it’s gonna be talking about a lot of things that people are going to need in their life right now.”

See you in the pit at #DL2019, maggots.

Opeth release ‘Garden Of Titans: Live At Red Rocks Amphitheatre’

Swedish prog titans Opeth, have released their fourth live album, ‘Garden Of Titans: Live At Red Rocks Amphitheatre’ and it’s a sonic behemoth . Opening with the marching chords of the title track of their 2016 album ‘Sorceress’, the album showcases just how immense the band are live with polished, genre jumping musicianship and rich enchanting harmonies.

The album was recorded live at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Denver, Colorado in 2017 and is the perfect warm-up for what you can expect from the Swedes at #DL2019.

Underoath team up with EDM DJ Kazo on new track ‘Wasted Space’

DJ Chuckie and Slash, Dave Grohl and Demau5, Noisia and Korn – rock and EDM artists have a history of hitting the studio together and now Underoath have grabbed the glowsticks to team up with DJ and producer Kazo on his track ‘Wasted Space’.

Singer Spencer Chamberlain’s growled vocals battle it out in an apocalyptic landscape of earth shattering beats and thundering synths. With Chamberlain’s vocals screaming “you are not your God”, it’s the track you need in your life when you’re raising your middle finger to the world.
