New Music Friday: Whitechapel, Simple Creatures, Halestorm, I Prevail

It’s that time again, Downloaders. Put your headphones on and prepare to rock out like you’ve never rocked before as it’s #NewMusicFriday!

This week is a big one with new albums from Whitechapel and I Prevail, a new EP from Simple Creatures and a brand new video from Halestorm.

whitechapel head to the valley

Whitechapel’s seventh album ‘The Valley’ is finally here! The record is the most melodic you’ve ever heard them, but loses none of the ferocity and darkness that they’re known for.

Guitarist Ben Savage told Kerrang!: “We went this long in our careers dabbling with more melodic vocals and singing, and we really wanted to wait until these songs were so great that we could put ‘em on a record.”

get strange with simple creatures

Simple Creatures, the brainchild of Alex Gaskarth and Mark Hoppus, have just dropped their first EP. It’s six tracks of hopelessly catchy trash pop goodness that’s guaranteed to get your head bobbing. Well, would you expect anything less from these two? If this doesn’t get you in the mood for summer, nothing will.

halestorm get vicious in new video

Hard rock heroes Halestorm have released a video for the title track of their latest album, ‘Vicious’. If you’ve not heard the song, it’s a pounding anthem drenched with attitude and the video is a perfect accompaniment. We wouldn’t wanna mess with Lzzy Hale, especially after finding out she did all her own stunts in the video.

i prevail are back with a bang on ‘trauma’

Michigan metalcore crew I Prevail are back with their new album and this time they’re getting heavy. In fact, they’re experimenting with all sorts: from trap metal to electronic to hip-hop – it all features on ‘Trauma’. Hit ‘play’ and mosh your way through the weekend.

You can catch all these bands and more alongside headliners Def Leppard, Slipknot and Tool at Download Festival in Donington Park on 14th-16th June 2019.
