The Malevolence K! Pit – In Pictures

We teamed up with Kerrang! to put on one of their legendary K! pit shows with none other than the mighty Malevolence.

Download Dog headed down to Blondies in East London to check it out.

Before the band arrived, Download Dog had a great time hanging out at the venue, helping himself to beer, and chatting to fans outside (we did tell him they were Malevolence’s fans rather than his, but he pretended not to hear).

After helping the Malevolence guys load into the venue, D-Dog was up to his usual antics, headbanging and throwing the horns up during soundcheck. He had loads of fun hanging out with the band and insisted on getting on stage for a piccy.

With all the fans packed inside Blondies, it was time for Malevolence to take the stage – and they TORE it up. Some fans had already begun crowdsurfing before the set had even started. Frontman Alex Taylor frequently joined in the pit too, and at one point ordered a circle pit to erupt in the tiny space. (Download Dog wanted to join the pit, too, but didn’t want to risk poking someone’s eyes out with his giant studded wristbands).

The set was a short but sweet riot from start to finish: from ‘On Broken Glass’, through to ‘The Other Side’, and ending with the stomping ‘Keep Your Distance’. With fans leaping from the bar and swinging from the ceiling, the show was so raucous that for a minute we were worried Blondies might not be standing by the end of it! Rest assured, it’s still there and ready to host future K! pits!

Look out for the video stream coming later this month for the full show.
