Nickelbrat

Even UPRAWR – One of the UK’s biggest alternative rock nights, located in the heart of Birmingham (aka Sabbath City) since 2010 – wasn’t safe from the cultural explosion that was ‘Brat Summer’ in 2024. Charli XCX’s songs of hedonism, self-confidence, authenticity and chaos seemed to set off a cultural reset, and before long even some of the most alternative amongst our community had embraced the essence of what it is to be ‘Brat’. But is the essence of ‘Brat’ so different to the essence of nu metal, grunge, post-grunge and dad rock we wondered? We thought we’d find out…

And just like that ‘Nickelbrat’, the ultimate alternative dad rock / metal meets girl pop club night experience, was born. It quickly became the biggest quarterly themed night under the UPRRAWR umbrella, with thousands of attendees showing up for some of our most ambitious crossover events to date. We are thrilled to now be taking Nickelbrat out of Birmingham and on to the Dogtooth stage this June at the best rock and metal festival in the world!
