THE PRIMALS

Sitting at the intersection of video game soundtracks and live rock music, THE PRIMALS challenge long held expectations of how video game music is created, performed, and experienced.

Formed in 2014, THE PRIMALS are the official band of Final Fantasy XIV, led by the game’s Sound Director Masayoshi Soken, alongside lyricist and vocalist Michael-Christopher Koji Fox. More than a hired act or cover band, the group performs the music that members actively created for the game.

Since forming, THE PRIMALS have headlined sold out shows across Japan, including Nippon Budokan and the Yokohama Arena, with lottery allocated tickets continuing to be in phenomenal demand, alongside appearances at dedicated Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival events across North America, Europe, South Korea, and China.
