From climate action to can recycling, meet the game-changers using music, mosh pits and metal to make a difference!
Climate Live
Join the Climate Live youth team to explore how music, artists and music fans have the power to drive change, and how young people are leading the way. Climate Live is a global youth-led charity, with teams in over 40 countries, who organise concerts and festival campaigns to engage a new audience in the climate and social justice movements through music. In the UK they go to lots of festivals every year to spread their message and engage music fans in a fun, joyful environment. Their supporters include Billie Eilish, Ellie Goulding, and Declan McKenna. Excitingly you can find their campaign stall at Download for the first time this year!
Every can counts
Every Can Counts will be back in action this year encouraging all Downloaders to recycle their empty cans… Because #MetalNeverDies! Pay them a visit in the campsite village to exchange your cans for special Download rewards including t-shirts and keyrings! And look out for their team of recycling ambassadors roaming around the festival collecting cans in their iconic recycling backpacks and testing your knowledge on drink can recycling. Get involved with their recycling fun and you could even win a pair of tickets to next year’s festival!
Greenpeace
Greenpeace defend the natural world and promote peace by investigating, exposing, and confronting environmental abuse, and championing responsible solutions for our fragile environment. In order to do this, they need people. They want to put pressure in the right places to protect the natural world, as well as inspiring individual change. Reaching out to people at festivals is a crucial way to help win campaigns and change the world for the better.
