  • Metal bins for safe BBQ disposal
  • Concrete slabs for your kit
  • Buckets of sand

Keep the Download Community Safe

  • All BBQs must be fully extinguished. Don’t leave anything smouldering. Instead, let it burn out in open air while keeping an eye on it.
  • Never take used BBQs or cooking gear into tents as they can still release harmful fumes.
  • Follow your equipment’s safety instructions.
  • Don’t cook inside tents or campervans.
  • If your gear looks damaged or dodgy, don’t use it.

Please note, in high temperatures, the Fire Safety Team and local Fire Service may further restrict cooking onsite.

Important: Starting fires or throwing dangerous/toxic items on flames will get you evicted. There are no exceptions to this rule.

Carbon Monoxide

Carbon monoxide (CO) is a colourless, odourless, highly poisonous gas that can kill in minutes. Never take a portable barbecue – or lit charcoal – into an enclosed space like a tent or caravan.

If you think you have potentially be exposed to carbon monoxide gas from a BBQ or gas powered heater whilst at the festival, please contact a steward immediately.

Symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning include:

  • Headache
  • Dizziness
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Tiredness and confusion
  • Stomach pain
  • Shortness of breath and difficulty breathing
