How To Apply

We want Download to be an event that is accessible for all. To ensure we have the correct level of facilities we ask customers to apply for access to the facilities they require.

Applications are not yet open for Download Festival 2020. For more information about Disabled Access at Download and to find out when applications open, please sign up to our Access Mailing List.

 

Attitude is Everything

Attitude is Everything is a charity set up to improve Deaf and disabled people’s access to live music. We have been working in partnership with them for over 15 years.

Attitude is Everything volunteers run the Information Tent in the Disabled Access Campsite. If you would like to join this team please contact [email protected]

Attitude is Everything supports the music industry to make live music events more accessible. Having begun as a pilot project in 2000, they are now a fully independent charity and part of Arts Council England’s National Portfolio of Organisations.

Download 2020 Dates

Download Festival will take place from 12th – 14th June 2020.

5 Night Camping and 5 Night Quiet Camping Tickets give you access to campsites from 12pm on Wednesday 10th June until 12pm on Monday 15th June 2020 and access to the Arena on all show days.

3 Night Camping and 3 Night Quiet Camping Tickets give you access to campsites from 10am on Friday 12th June until 12pm on Monday 15th June 2020 and access to the Arena on all show days.

Weekend Arena Tickets only gives you access to the Arena on all show days (Fri/Sat/Sun).

Ticket Extras

CAR PARKING PASS

If you are driving to Download you’ll need to purchase a Car Park Pass for parking. One pass provides access to parking for one car.

Standard Advance Purchase Car Park Pass: £20.00

On Site Car Park Pass: £25.00

MOTORCYCLE PARKING PASS

If you are bringing a motorcycle, you’ll need to purchase a Motorcycle Pass for parking. The bike park is located on the hard standing area in the West Car Park. One pass provides access to parking for one motorcycle.

 

 

 

 

Campervan Site: Permitted Vehicles

All sleeping units on the campervan field must be brought to the site by the festival ticket holder – companies will not be allowed to access the site to deliver vehicles to the pitch.

Camping vehicles will only be admitted to the Campervan Site if they are one of the following:

  • Campervan
  • Motor home
  • Caravan
  • Trailer tent

Purpose built vehicle with camping facilities within
Vans with mattresses or bunk bed facility will not be permitted.

Your camping vehicle must fit within the pitch. Cars, people carriers and vans ARE NOT PERMITTED to be slept in.

If you do not know whether your vehicle is suitable for access to the Campervan Site, please purchase a Campervan Ticket and then send a picture of your vehicle to [email protected]. If your vehicle is not suitable, your ticket will still be valid with an appropriate camping vehicle, or we will refund the price of the Campervan Ticket.

Guest Area Upgrade

With our Guest Area Upgrade you can upgrade your ticket and get out of the crowds for a breather with access to the official Download Guest Area – an exclusive area within the festival site. It’s a great place to hang out and relax over a beer. You will be issued with your additional Guest Area wristband and you are free to come and go at your leisure as many times as you want. It is open from Thursday evening, all day Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Timings will be confirmed closer to the event and opening times are subject to change.

 

By Shuttle Bus

Notts and Derby

Notts and Derby are running a shuttle bus service to and from East Midlands Parkway and Derby station to Download Festival.  Want to keep it simple? Notts and Derby offer a £25 ticket for any journeys on their route Wednesday through to Monday – perfect for day ticket holders and non-campers. Tickets can only be purchased on the day and it will be cash payment only.

East Midlands Parkway to Download – travel time 20 minutes, return ticket £10

Wednesday & Thursday – Buses depart East Midlands Parkway every hour from 09:00 until 21:00.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday – buses run from 09:00, and then hourly until 18:00 with buses from the site back to the station hourly until 23:00, and then every few minutes until 00:00.

Traveling from East Midlands Parkway on Monday the 11th of June? Make an early start and beat the queues with buses running at least every 30 minutes from 05:00 to 14:00.

Derby Station (Prime Park Side) to Download – travel time 30 minutes, return ticket £10

Wednesday and Thursday – Buses depart Derby Station every 30 minutes between 08:30 to 23:30 with the last bus returning from the festival site at 00:00.

Friday – Travel from Derby Station every 20 minutes between 08:30 and 17:00, and then every 30 minutes until 22:00. Buses will be returning to Derby station from 22:30 every few minutes until Midnight.

Saturday and Sunday – Travel to Download Festival from Derby Station every 30 minutes between 08:30 and 22:00.  Buses will be returning to Derby station from 22:30 every few minutes until Midnight.

Looking for an early get away Monday morning? Buses run hourly from midnight Sunday evening until 04:00am, 04:30, 5:00 and then every few minutes until 14:00.

skylink and my15 are offering bus services direct from the site. You’ll be able to access Nottingham, Derby, Leicester and Loughborough city centres, as well as the main transport hubs in the area, including East Midlands Airport.

Eco-Camp FAQs

What is the Eco-Camp?

Greenpeace are returning for a second year to host the Eco-Camp in a beautiful part of the Donington Park Estate, which is home to ancient oak trees and native wildlife. It’s a free campsite for you Downloaders who value spending five glorious days in the great outdoors and respecting the environment just as much as rocking out to your favourite bands.

In the Eco-Camp you can meet like-minded people and take part in morning yoga sessions and talks on all things Eco.  It’s a community within a community where everyone is committed to keeping their camp clean, recycling is second nature and everything that is brought in is taken away again with only the experience and memories remaining.

Where is it?

The Eco-campsite is on the West side of the Donington Park Estate.

How far is it to the main arena and the village?

The Eco-camp is an approximate 15 minute walk to the main arena and a 20 minute walk to the campsite village.

How do I apply?

The Ecocamp is now full. Sorry you missed out this year but please share the eco-principles in the general campsites and sign up next year.

The Eco-Camp is free to stay in and requires pre-registration for every guest to sign up to the following principles;

  1. All guests agree to being responsible for their gear and take responsibility for any waste they produce
  2. All guests agree to separate their recyclables in the recycling facilities and put any residual waste in the bins provided.
  3. All guests agree to leave the Eco-Camp exactly as they found it. All camping equipment that is brought in must be taken home again.
  4. Most importantly!  Guests are encouraged to have fun, play, explore, respect fellow campers and enjoy the wonderful, natural surroundings.

Yes the Eco Camp is  at no additional cost to a weekend camping ticket, you just need to be an environmentally friendly rocker and sign up to the principles above.

Are there any facilities in the camp?

Yes, you get to have your own facilities:

  • Compost toilets
  • Cafe
  • Chill out area
  • Morning yoga
  • Talks & films
Is it a wristbanded area?

Yes, you will be given an Eco Camp wristband upon entry into the Eco Camp in addition to your event wristband. There will be security and staff at the entrance of the Eco Camp wristbanding those who have bought a ticket and registered. Please have your I.D. ready to prove it is you.

How do I gain entry into Eco Camp?

Places are limited and are given on a first come first served basis, each booking can register up to 4 additional tent spaces, each guest must sign the Eco-Camp declaration. The names of all guests must be provided in advance in order to check in, contact information of the lead person will be required.

In order to access the Eco-Camp persons must also hold a valid weekend ticket to Download Festival 2019. As such it is understood that you must adhere to the festival terms and conditions.

Can I camp with my friends?

Yes you can book up to four additional tent spaces fitting in as many friends as you like

How many tent spaces can I book?

You can book up to four tent spaces. You need to bring your own tents to stay in (and take them home again with you).

Is there an Eco Camp car park?

No. All campers arriving by car and wishing to park this year will park in the West car park and enter through the West campsite entrance.

Where do I go if I arrive by public transport?

All campers that arrive to the Transport Hub via public transport will enter through the East campsite entrance

Car Park Passes

If you are driving to Download you’ll need to purchase a pass for parking.

One pass provides access to parking for one car for the duration of the event.

CARBON BALANCING WITH ENERGY REVOLUTION

The main contributor of carbon emissions at festivals is travel, which accounts for 70% of a festival’s carbon footprint. That is why at Download Festival we are introducing carbon offsetting to our car and motorcycle parking prices. £1 of the cost of your parking pass will be donated to the charity Energy Revolution, who invest in renewable energy projects. Watch this Energy Revolution video to find out more.

In 2018 we balanced 1,024,194 travel miles with 100% of donations going to Solar for Schools, a project putting solar panels on school roofs across the UK.

RIP Camping at Park Farm and in Sleepy Hollow

Due to the huge demand for RIP Camping at Download, we have expanded and improved our offering over the years. The original Park Farm location and our latest addition Sleepy Hollow are within a very short walk of the Guest Area and the RIP entrance to the Main Arena. Enjoy access to all the wonderful facilities: including proper toilets, warm showers, pamper areas, firepits, live entertainment, the RIP exclusive ‘Doggy Bag’ and 24-hour assistance from our reception.

Motorcycle

If you are bringing a motorcycle, you’ll need to purchase a pass for parking when you arrive at the festival. The bike park is located on the hard standing area in the West Car Park. One pass provides access to parking for one motorcycle for the duration of the event.

Shipping Details and Terms & Conditions:

If you have purchased a Car or Motorcycle parking pass in advance, you will be sent this with your event tickets no later than 7 days prior to the event. Parking passes are non-refundable. Parking passes cannot be exchanged for cash or resold.

No Camping Tickets

Entry to the Download Festival Arena, the spiritual home of rock and metal. Access to all stages, food stalls, and an array of attractions with a Weekend Arena ticket.

Campsite Facilities

Download’s campsite area is so much more than the place you can get some kip. As well as numerous campsite areas, you’ll gain access to The Village which is full of food and drink stalls, essential services, and the kind of entertainment you just won’t find anywhere else. The campsite is open 24 hours a day.

There will be toilets, showers and water available to you dotted around the campsite areas, just look at your map or nearby signs to guide you.

Where is Download?

Download happens on the sacred site that is Donington Park, next to East Midlands Airport. Donington Park lies where the three counties of Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Derbyshire meet – the ley lines of ROCK!

Download has excellent connections by road, rail, bus and plane.
