The closest mainline railway stations to Download Festival are East Midlands Parkway and Derby. Both are served by regular festival transfer buses to and from our Transport Hub. Depending on traffic, these usually take 20mins between East Midlands Parkway and Download Festival, and 30mins between Derby Station.
It is really easy to get to Download by train and reduces your environmental impact at the same time. Train travel is 67% less polluting than driving (ref: I Came By Train | Sustainable Travel | Green Low Carbon Trains) – use the carbon calculator to see how much you could reduce your emissions.
To park at Download Festival you will need to purchase a car park pass in advance.

All taxis and private vehicles (including family or friends doing drop-offs/pick-ups) should follow signage for ‘Pick Up & Drop Off’. This area is located near the East Entrance.

Important: Please make sure drivers do not attempt to drop off or pick up on nearby roads. These roads can be unsafe, with unstable verges, no pavements, and limited lighting. There are also ‘No Stopping’ orders in place around the site – drivers who ignore them may face enforcement action.

Shuttle buses operated by Notts & Derby will be running regularly from key locations including Derby and East Midlands Parkway.
