2021 Opening Times
campsites / CamperVAN FIELD
Our campsites and campervan field will open at 12pm on Wednesday 2nd June (for 5 Day Weekend Camping Ticket holders), and close at 12pm on Monday 7th June.
The Arena
We aim to open the Main Arena at the during the following times:
- Friday – 12.00pm
- Saturday – 10.00am
- Sunday – 10.00am
However, please note that these times are approximate and subject to health and safety checks each day, prior to opening.
Box Office
Our Box Office on-site at Download Festival will be open during the following times:
- Wednesday 8am – Midnight
- Thursday 8am – Midnight
- Friday 8am – Midnight
- Saturday 8am – 9pm*
- Sunday 8am – 9pm*
- Monday – CLOSED
Again, Box Office times are subject to change. * indicates estimate times – on these days the box office will close 30mins after the headliner starts.
Bag restrictions
Your safety is our priority and we’ve put in place all necessary measures to maximise public safety, working closely with local authorities at the highest level. We ask that you also play a part in keeping Download Festival safe and secure, so please take note of our messages below, pack accordingly and stay strong together.
All festival goers will be subject to extra searches of their vehicles, bags and their person. Please be patient if there are longer queues than normal. We request that you cooperate with any security requests and searches. Please pack light!
CCTV recording is in operation throughout the festival site for public safety and crime prevention.
We strongly advise you do not bring a bag into the Arena as there will be long queues while all bags are searched. If you do wish to bring a bag into the Arena please ensure that it is no bigger than A4 sized 8.27”x11.69”. There is a limited to one A4 sized bag per person permitted into the Arena.

*In the Arena cameras are normally permitted for personal use. Cameras with lens of over 6” will not be allowed through the Arena entrance. Professional cameras and video / audio equipment are strictly prohibited. Live video / audio recordings made without the permission of the artiste or premises licence holder are prohibited.
Please note: It is now illegal to be in possession of a firework, flare or smoke bomb at a music festival. Please do not bring these items to site.
Merchandise
Didn’t manage to get your hands on an official Download t-shirt or Download Dog plushie at the festival? Fear not, our merchandise team are selling everything we have left.
Age Restrictions / Child Tickets
Children under 5 year old (ages 0-4 years) are allowed at Download Festival for free, and do not require a child ticket, but must be accompanied by a ticket holding adult.
5-12 years olds must be accompanied by a ticket holding adult and each child will require a Child Ticket.
13-15 must purchase an adult ticket and also be accompanied by a parent / guardian over 18.
Please note:
- Download Festival will contain acts unsuitable for children
- Parents may be asked to provide ID with proof of age if the child appears to be over 12 but holding a Child Ticket.
- Those aged 16 or over can attend alone.
- We do not accept any parental or supervisory duty of care or liability for any under 18’s on site.
Valid ID
At times you may be required to show a valid form of ID whilst at Download; where we also operate a Challenge 21 Policy on-site at our bars and cigarette stalls. We accept the following types of ID:
- A Passport (Not a photocopy)
- Full Driving Licence or Provisional Licence
- A Proof of Age Card bearing a PASS hologram
- A Ministry of Defence identity card
- A National identity card issued by an EU member state
