The safety and security of Downloaders is our number one priority. We are working with Counter Terrorism Policing to encourage Downloaders to #BeSafeBeSound. Here are ways that you can keep yourself and your fellow festival goers safe:
- Only bring what you need and make sure to follow our Things You Can / Can’t Bring rules. Security checks are in place at the campsite gates, arena entrance and various locations on site so please be patient! Make sure any belongings have a name & number on so they can be easily reunited if lost.
- If you see anything that doesn’t look right make sure to report it to our on site staff or security straight away. Or if you spot an area where you think we could be doing better, please let us know.
- Get to know the festival layout and decide on a meeting point with your friends in case anyone gets separated.
- In the campsite, take note of memorable point to help you find your way there. Get to know the people camped around you – it’s makes for a nicer environment and also makes the area more familiar!
- Keep your phone charged and make sure you have GPS tracking on.
- Don’t leave any valuables in your tent or unattended vehicles – lockers are available to rent or keep them in a zipped pocket / bag.
- Speak to our staff if you need any assistance – they’re here to help! The Welfare Tent is open 24 hours in District X and in the Main Arena during opening hours. Here you can get advice, support and a monitored rest area if you’ve overdone it.
- If you see or experience any discrimination, report it immediately to one of our staff. We are proud of the diverse nature of our festival and customers and do not accept any discrimination.
As well as our security staff throughout the festival and Welfare Tents, the full site is also monitored through an extensive CCTV system watched round the clock by a team at Event Control. We work closely with our security teams and Leicestershire Police to ensure our procedures are following best practices.
