Traffic Management

We are working closely with North West Leicestershire District Council, Highway Agencies, Local Police and an independent traffic management company to conduct a comprehensive review of the traffic management plan of the festival. We are committed to ensuring the overall experience is improved for everyone involved.

Please expect an increased traffic flow around these dates, however, our peak times will be between 08:30 – 16:00 on:

  • Wednesday 10th June
  • Thursday 11th June
  • Friday 12th June
  • Monday 15th June

During the event there will be various changes to the local road network, this includes road and footpath closures, signage adaptations and speed limit reductions, this will all be communicated in advance.

More details including a map showing our key routes will be published here soon.

Noise Management

As a festival we are continuing to develop our noise management plan in consultation with an independent consultant. Our team will be present during the event to monitor noise both at the festival and in the surrounding community. This will help to ensure we can maintain within reasonable limits and allow us to make adaptations during the event should there be any particular concerns in specific areas.

Local Village Shuttle Bus

To ensure that locals have a way of getting to and from Download Festival, we have organised a free shuttle bus service.

Local Resident Correspondence

Local Residents can keep in touch with the festival throughout the year, via the dedicated resident inbox. If you have any questions or concerns, please get in touch with the inbox and a member of the management team will be able to help. This inbox is dedicated to the local community.

We plan to hold drop-in meetings in the months leading up to the Festival, whilst working with the Parish Councils to maintain a positive relationship within the local community.
